Look out for sign-up letters which will be sent out before each club starts, so your child can have a chance to join more than one club if they wish across the year.

Whole School Choir
This choir will provide children with the opportunity to sing with students from across school, and hopefully create friendships and buddies across Reception up to KS2. They will get to learn and practise new songs that they will have the opportunity to perform at the annual Birkdale Village Christmas Fayre and more!
We want to provide both our younger and older children with an expressive outlet and a chance to be part of a musical group!
Music Appreciation Club
Our new Music Appreciation Club for our younger children in school will help them to develop a love and appreciation for all kinds of music. We will enjoy listening to and appreciating music through fun games, art, and activities!
We will listen to various styles of music and paint or draw about how it makes them feel. We will teach them about rhythm and have them clap or dance to different beats. Also, we will have access to different musical instruments which we will use to identify various instruments by sight and sound, and have children take turns playing the instruments.

Music Technology Club
At Birkdale Primary, we recognise that Music is a broad subject with so many different aspects to love and enjoy, so we wanted to provide an opportunity for our students to learn another side of music - Music Technology!
In Music Tech Club, students are given the time to explore the wonders of music-making software like Garageband, as well as other online software that allows them to create their own music compositions.
Every week, children will learn steps towards producing their own composition, such as how to record sounds and explore a variety of music styles that are created through music technology.
